We’re moving into Part 2 of our special series, Outrage on the Mic, where I’m exploring how outrage shapes our culture and conversations.
Last week in Part 1, we laughed our way through modern outrage with Outrage Factory. This week, we’re heading into the past.
In Part 2: Outrage Has Always Been With Us, I talk with journalist and podcaster Ernest Granson from Outrageous History! Together, we dive into the scandals, revolutions, and media firestorms of earlier eras, from the French Revolution to the Spanish-American War, and reveal how outrage has always been part of the human story.
It turns out that political polarization, media spin, and outrage-driven narratives are not new. They just have new tools and faster reach today.
Next week, we’ll wrap up the series with Part 3, Can We Grow Without the Rage?, where I’ll reflect on media, audience growth, and how to avoid relying on outrage for attention.
Thanks for tuning in and for being part of this journey to better understand the roots of outrage.

🧠 Introducing: Outrage Autopsy
A new segment on the Outrage Overload Podcast
You’ve probably seen it.
That one comment.
The one that made your jaw drop — or your blood pressure spike.
The kind of post that racked up shares, sparked arguments, and left you wondering, how did we get here?
Welcome to Outrage Autopsy — a new segment on the podcast where I take real social media comments and calmly break them down. I’ll dissect the emotional triggers, rhetorical tactics, and psychological hooks used to provoke outrage — whether it’s coming from the left, the right, or somewhere in between.
The goal? Not to mock. Not to scold. But to understand how these messages work… and how we can resist getting pulled into the outrage spiral.
Now here’s where you come in.

New This Week in Outrage Episode!
It’s everything the Outrage Overload podcast is not. It’s not edited. It’s not scripted. It’s lightly researched. It’s David and Lisa talking about this week in outrage, what was in the news, in the memes, and maybe finding some backstory with a humorous (at least to us) twist.
