Hey friends,
I’m pressing pause on my regular programming this month—because I believe this moment calls for something bigger.
Today, I’m launching a special three-part series on Outrage Overload called Outrage on the Mic.
Here’s why:
We talk a lot on this show about how outrage fuels clicks, views, and profits. But I’ve been grappling with a question I can’t shake:
Is there a different way to do this?
Must we stoke outrage to grow a show—or can we talk about anger, injustice, and polarization without becoming part of the problem ourselves?
So, for the next three weeks, I’m handing the mic to voices from other podcasts—and opening up space to look at outrage from entirely new angles.
🎧 What’s Coming in This Series
✅ Part 1: Laughing Through the Outrage (Out now!)
I talk with the hosts of Outrage Factory, who use satire to dissect the absurdities of outrage culture. We dig into whether humor defuses rage—or risks trivializing serious issues.
✅ Part 2: Outrage Has Always Been With Us (Next week)
A conversation with Outrageous History! about how public outrage has shaped revolutions, wars, and moral panics—and how the media has always played a role in amplifying the fury.
✅ Part 3: Can We Grow Without the Rage?
I’ll close the series with reflections—and bring in fellow podcasters to tackle the question: Is it possible to build a podcast or media platform without feeding the outrage machine?
This isn’t just an experiment—it’s a necessary interruption.
Outrage is reshaping our culture, our politics, and even the way we connect as humans. If we’re going to keep our sanity—and our democracy—it matters how we talk about these things.
That’s what Outrage on the Mic is all about.
I hope you’ll join me for this important conversation—and let me know your thoughts along the way. Hit reply and let me know your take!
Thanks for listening, and for caring about these issues as much as I do.

New This Week in Outrage Episode!
It’s everything the Outrage Overload podcast is not. It’s not edited. It’s not scripted. It’s lightly researched. It’s David and Lisa talking about this week in outrage, what was in the news, in the memes, and maybe finding some backstory with a humorous (at least to us) twist.
The NYC Mayoral Primary, Andrew Cuomo, and the Democrats' Ongoing 💩 Show - 6/29/2025
This week, Lisa and David talk about Supreme Court decision on universal injunctions; 21-year-old Norwegian tourist claims he was denied access to the U.S. because of a JD Vance Meme; the NYC Mayoral race primary; sanctions and “shadow fleets”; Trump phone; armed churchgoers stop a mass shooting in Michigan; Sean 'Di…
